Sewing Program
The sewing project teaches students to sew their own school uniforms. Uniforms are a school requirement in Tanzania and the absence of uniforms is an obstacle for many children. This program both provides uniforms for students and teaches them a valuable trade.
Pocketful of Joy has equipped each school with three manual sewing machines for this program.
This program:
- provides uniforms for students
- teaches student a new skill and potential trade
- employees nine sewing instructors from the local community
- supports local businesses that sell us fabric and sewing supplies
